- Polynomial – when n is a positive integer ,the expression a0xn + a1xn-1 + a2xn-2 +…+ an is called a polynomial in x where a0 , a1 , a2 ,….an are constants.
- Degree of polynomial – the degree of a polynomial is the highest of the degrees of the polynomial’s monomials with non-zero coefficients.
- Rational fraction – an expression of the form P(x)/Q(x) , Where P(x) and Q(x) are polynomial in x.
- Proper fraction – If the degree of P(x) is less than that of Q(x) then P(x)/Q(x) is called as a Proper fraction.
- Improper fraction – If degree of P(x) is greater than or equal to Q(x) , then P(x)/Q(x) is called an improper fraction.
